Just back from the county fair, and it was sooooo exciting!
Our family was extremely well-represented in the various competitions. We walked away with the following:
My niece (7 years old) and my nephew (5 years old), each won 1st place blue ribbons in the student art division;
My daughter (8 years old) won a 1st place blue ribbon for her “Praline Cookies” in the 4-H Homemaking division;
My husband won a second place ribbon for the two chest-on-chest jewelry boxes he made for me and our daughter from wood he planed down from a pecan tree that fell in our yard;
And I won a second place ribbon for a photo of my daughter on the Galveston Seawall and a first place ribbon for a photo of my sister, niece, and nephew at last year’s fair! Not only that, but my first place entry also won an “Outstanding” ribbon and “Best in Class” ribbon!
I don’t like to brag, but I’m so excited about all this that I just had to tell you! It was a great day for all of us.
Wow! that’s awesome!And is someone willing to share that cookie recipe…?Good for ya’ll. That’s awesome!
